Officials In Place For Upcoming Series

Oct 6, 2010

THE officials are in place for World Series Sprintcars, the country’s leading speedway series that will be contested across the country this summer.

Gary Pendlebury will again be in the hot seat at all race meetings, calling the shots as the chief steward from the officials’ box.

Pendlebury, who has been appointed and funded by the Sprintcar Control Council of Australia, has been in the role for a few years and has developed a good relationship with the drivers and crews.

Another who has worked hard with all the teams out on the road in recent years is Shane Collins who has committed again to being the race director.

NASR competition manager Paul Trengove will be handling the points structure at each meeting and working on communication with the drivers on each night.

“Paul has been working on new technology for the big screen display as well as screens on the WSS truck which will display the grids and points,” series manager Steven Green said.

“That information will also be available via the internet and on web based phones with some new phone and web applications too.”

The popular Wade Aunger will be the series commentator and also be heard on the television package that will be delivered by Power Productions for the new Foxtel SPEED channel.

“And we have a great range of merchandise on the way with Wayne Meyer once again responsible for the official merchandise.”

Darren O’Dea will be producing the media reports from each round as well as the official series magazine.

A season launch is being planned for Brisbane in the lead up to the first round on Saturday November 20.
